A scrubber removes one or more components from a mixture of gases and vapors by passing it upward and usually counter current to and in intimate contact with a stream of descending liquid, the latter being chosen and not the others. The tower is filled with packing media which maximizes surface contact within the scrubber between gas and liquid. It is also ideal for gas streams with extreme PH.
